Job Summary
The Construction Accountant will manage project-based accounting, oversee job costing, and ensure accurate financial reporting for multiple construction projects. This role works closely with project managers and leadership to maintain financial health across all jobs.
Duties
- Manage job cost accounting and track project budgets vs. actuals
- Prepare and maintain WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules
- Process accounts payable/receivable, including subcontractor invoices
- Handle AIA billing and progress billings
- Reconcile job costs, contracts, and change orders
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Support financial reporting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards and tax requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing and WIP reporting
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks, Viewpoint, etc.)
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
