Mechanical Assembler - II

Overview:
As a Mechanical Assembler II, you will serve as an experienced member of the production team responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and improving complex mechanical systems. In this role, you will work independently with minimal supervision, interpret engineering drawings, identify assembly improvements, and help maintain the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

You will also provide guidance to Mechanical Assemblers I, assist with training, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve manufacturing processes and ensure products consistently exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Independently assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and complete equipment according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and work orders with minimal supervision.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, torque tools, and other inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Conduct functional testing of completed assemblies and verify equipment meets operational and quality standards.
• Ensure assembly documentation, work instructions, and production records are completed accurately.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship while consistently meeting production schedules and quality expectations.
• Identify quality issues before products move to the next stage of production and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform basic welding, soldering, fastening, and fabrication operations as needed.
• Provide remote technical support to customers by assisting with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving equipment issues after delivery via phone, video conference, or other virtual communication methods.
• Safely operate production equipment, hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and shop machinery.
• Assist with inventory accuracy by identifying material shortages, damaged components, or incorrect parts during assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Follow all company safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality management requirements.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 80 lbs., transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products throughout the facility.

Duties may change and expand depending on performance and company growth.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to complete complex assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and BOMs.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and identifying root causes of assembly issues.
• Basic welding, fabrication, or machining experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize work while maintaining quality and production deadlines.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
