Job Summary:

Cleaner/Maintenance is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and performing minor repairs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This includes tasks like sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal, as well as identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in all areas of the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and disposal of waste according to company policy.
• Clean production equipment and machinery as needed, following safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
  
  

Maintenance:

• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance issues.
• Perform minor repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and repairing minor damage to walls or doors.
• Assist with more complex maintenance tasks under the supervision of a maintenance supervisor or technician.
• Ensure that safety equipment (fire extinguishers, etc.) is in good working order.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  
  

Other:

• Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed.
• May be required to perform tasks outside of normal work hours on occasion.
• May be required to work with hazardous materials following proper safety protocols.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• Physical ability: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to detail: Must be able to identify and address maintenance issues and maintain a high level of cleanliness.
• Problem-solving skills: Must be able to identify and troubleshoot minor maintenance issues.
• Ability to follow instructions: Must be able to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
• Teamwork and communication: Must be able to work effectively with other employees and communicate maintenance needs.
• Experience with cleaning equipment: Experience with operating vacuums, floor polishers, and other cleaning equipment is helpful.
• Knowledge of safety procedures: Knowledge of proper safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment is essential.
