Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Operations Manager to oversee our daily operations and ensure the efficiency of our business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement. This role is critical in aligning our operational strategies with our overall business goals and enhancing productivity across all departments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Guides, organizes, and directs the hourly work force to meet or exceed all safety, operational and quality goals.
- Assures stationary and mobile equipment is operated properly in accordance with best practices.
- Long term planning including projects, process development, budgeting, and operational schedules.
- Training and maintenance of quality, safety, environmental, and health programs including audit and development activities.
- Plans and schedules operations in conjunction with maintenance in order to meet sales requirements.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's objectives.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring that all departments meet their performance targets.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to foster a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation effectively.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices across the organization.
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- At least 10 years of experience in an industrial production environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (especially Excel and Word)
- Solid background in Operations planning programs (like JD Edwards)
- Leadership skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with various personalities
Preferred or Nice-to-have Skills
- Engineering background in a manufacturing setting
- Experience as an Operations Supervisor in a similar field
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience)
