Stitch & Sew is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to sew, alter, and repair garments while ensuring a perfect fit for clients. This role requires expertise in sewing techniques, fabric handling, and pattern-making, as well as strong customer service skills to understand client needs and provide high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sewing machines and perform hand-sewing techniques.
- Create new garments or modify existing ones to match specific measurements and styles.
- Work with various fabrics, understanding their properties and proper handling.
- Perform garment repairs, including mending tears, replacing zippers, and hemming.
- Take precise client measurements for custom tailoring and alterations.
- Mark and adjust garments to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Apply pattern-making techniques to create or modify clothing designs.
- Communicate with clients to understand their preferences and garment needs.
- Provide expert advice on fabric choices, styles, and alterations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Strong sewing and garment construction skills.
- Attention to detail and precision in measurements and alterations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Hours are Monday through Thursday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am- 5pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
