The Opportunity
The Art Director leads design and creative development across multiple brands — from initial concept through final production.
This role sets the visual tone, ensures consistency with brand strategy, and maintains the highest standards of design excellence across all media. You’ll direct creative execution, manage resources, and serve as a creative anchor within Stirling’s lean studio.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and oversee design and concepts as a brand lead, ensuring creative aligns with strategic and business objectives.
- Maintain brand consistency across all materials, keeping design aligned with established visual guidelines and positioning.
- Present and communicate clearly — internally, with clients, and with external partners — articulating rationale and creative direction.
- Uphold quality standards for all digital, print, motion, and collateral work produced by the agency.
- Monitor and review all finished art and conceptual materials from internal teams or freelancers, guaranteeing accuracy and craftsmanship.
- Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to designers and freelancers, fostering high performance and creative growth.
- Inform creative leadership on departmental needs, including software, hardware, tools, or workflow improvements.
- Ensure efficiency and timeliness of all visual work according to project assignments and deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, accounts, and strategy teams to translate business goals into creative outcomes.
- Identify and proactively address challenges, minimizing production crises and ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Engage in continuous development, staying current with design trends, technology, and cultural shifts relevant to Stirling’s clients.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
- 8 years of experience in a creative or digital agency setting.
- Strong conceptual, visual, and art-direction skills across brand, web, and campaign projects.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, with working familiarity in Figma and motion/AI tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence leading client and internal discussions.
- Deep understanding of production processes for digital, print, and multimedia deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Passionate about design craft and visual storytelling — with an eye for detail and a bias toward action.
- Bonus: Motion design, art direction for video, generative AI prompting, or animation experience.
