Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist with experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and AIA billing for construction projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Generate and submit AIA billing applications.
- Follow up on overdue invoices and assist with collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Process cash receipts and apply payments to customer accounts.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Maintain organized billing and accounting records.
- Communicate with customers, project managers, and internal staff regarding billing and payment status.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or billing experience.
- Experience with AIA billing and construction accounting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sedona experience is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with change orders, and progress billing.
- Experience with electronic billing portals.
