What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician Assistant/Receptionist position at Stillwater Veterinary Clinic?
We are looking for a Veterinary Technician Assistant or current CVT student to care for animals and support Veterinarians, experience is a plus. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to and providing care for our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. We’ll rely on you to assist the Veterinarian and Certified Technicians in examinations and operations. Caring for pets properly is one of the most important Vet Assistant job requirements. If you’re organized, quick on your feet and have the stomach to help with medical operations and euthanasia, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
- Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
- Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians
- Blood draws for laboratory tests
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, calling patients, rooming patients
- Keep accurate records and logs
Skills
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician Assistant or similar position working with animals a plus
- Experience in an administrative role
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly
- Confident in learning to safely restraining animals
- Confident in learning to preform blood draws
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (restraining, lifting, long hours on feet)
- High school diploma
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
