JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing x-ray techniques and laboratory tests, maintaining all required documentation for regulatory agencies, and maintaining all supplies and equipment in proper working order. Performs other functions as re-quested by the Laboratory Manager, supervising Radiology Technologist, or Clinic Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent. (Current AART or Radiology Certification preferred.)
- Completion of department orientation and competency.
- Excellent verbal, written, and clerical skills.
- Excellent customer relation skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to include synonyms for common tests.
- Able to work without direct supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work in latex-burdened environment.
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and fellow employees.
- Coordination and motor skills required for obtaining blood specimens from patients following OSHA guidelines.
- Motor skills must allow safe handling of blood borne pathogens and other biohazardous body fluids according to OSHA guidelines.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects to include small technical equipment is required.
- Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
- Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
