About the Role
Stillpoint Talent Group is partnering with a highly respected MEP consulting engineering firm to identify a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Atlanta office. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key leadership role within the organization, overseeing HVAC and plumbing system design, mentoring engineering staff, managing client relationships, and contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects. This position is ideal for a mechanical engineer with 8–15 years of consulting engineering experience who enjoys technical leadership, project ownership, and collaborating directly with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, education, retail, multifamily, and institutional projects
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior engineers and design staff
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives
- Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project delivery
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, system evaluations, and technical analyses
- Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and client communication activities
- Review engineering designs for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance
- Support projects through construction administration including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field coordination
- Assist with proposal development, client relationship management, and business development efforts
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and support the continued development of the engineering team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- 8–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering within an MEP consulting environment
- PE preferred
- Strong non-licensed candidates with demonstrated technical expertise, career stability, and progressive consulting engineering experience will be considered
- Strong experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, education, multifamily, retail, municipal, or institutional facilities
- Proficiency with Revit and industry-standard mechanical engineering software
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards, energy codes, and applicable mechanical codes
- Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to mentor and develop junior engineering professionals
