The firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer with current experience designing electrical systems for buildings within an MEP consulting engineering or AEC environment. Responsibilities and project leadership will align with the individual's technical expertise and experience level.
Responsibilities
- Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems
- Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing, and related electrical engineering analysis
- Develop power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, lighting controls, and electrical equipment specifications
- Perform electrical service and distribution design including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, generators, and related building electrical infrastructure
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Apply NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and applicable building and electrical design standards
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, technology, and other project disciplines
- Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration
- Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship based on experience level
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
- Current electrical building systems design experience within an MEP consulting engineering, architectural engineering, or AEC consulting environment required
- Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and other building electrical systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; EIT candidates actively progressing toward PE licensure will also be considered
- Experience with applicable electrical engineering and design platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or similar industry-specific software preferred
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, energy codes, and applicable electrical and building codes
- Experience preparing electrical engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents

Salary : $90,000 - $140,000
