Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using standardized tools and clinical judgment.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs, goals, and clinical documentation standards.
- Engage in crisis intervention to support patients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral emergencies.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, educators, and community agencies, ensuring holistic patient support.
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records using electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to improve service quality and contribute to ongoing mental health studies.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in clinical settings involving mental health counseling, behavioral therapy, or social work.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and crisis management techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical documentation standards; experience with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, substance use disorders, PTSD care, Alzheimer’s care or geriatrics is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining cultural competence.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to psychiatric patient care and behavioral health interventions is advantageous.
