Stier Supply Company, a renowned industry leader in manufacturing and installing interior and exterior doors for over 76 years, is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Safety to oversee safety initiatives across multiple sites, starting from Distribution Centers and expanding to Field Install locations across the Southeast. The Director of Safety will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of employees, reducing workplace risks, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs and policies to proactively reduce the risk of injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance overall Health and Safety performance across the organization.
- Lead and manage internal audit and inspection programs related to Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Take the lead in training new employees and identifying potential vulnerabilities within the organization's safety protocols.
- Coordinate and organize safety committees and workshops to foster awareness and knowledge among employees.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety processes, prepare progress reports, develop presentations, and create new policies when necessary.
- Address At-risk behaviors and At-risk conditions to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Train staff on new safety procedures and best practices, ensuring effective implementation.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers to ensure appropriate coverage for potential risks.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment with company guidelines and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments at work sites to identify hazards and develop mitigation plans.
- Review employee accident reports and medical claims, assessing the need for adjustments to current safety policies or procedures.
- Provide oversight of environmental health and safety compliance, including fire safety and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Complete all required OSHA and environmental reports accurately and in a timely manner.
