Job Overview
Sticks & Stones Construction is hiring one additional team member in a general laborer role. This role is meant to assist site supervisors and remodeling crew members by execution of common tasks, such as site demo, site cleaning, basic carpentry, etc. Applicants do not need a strong background in construction, but do need an eye for detail, a willingness to undertake manual labor and repetitive tasks, and follow direction and instruction. Applicants must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, traverse up and down stairs without issue, use ladders as needed, and be comfortable working outdoors as needed. In particular, this job will require a willingness to focus on site cleanliness and organization on a large job site.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris, setting up equipment, and organizing materials
- Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and other tradespeople by providing necessary tools and materials promptly
- Perform basic tasks such as digging trenches, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with framing or drywall installation
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members
- Operate simple machinery or hand tools under supervision to facilitate various construction activities
- Maintain cleanliness of the work site by disposing of waste and organizing supplies regularly
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues immediately to supervisors to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Basic understanding of construction processes or prior experience is a plus but not required
- Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively within a team
- Commitment to safety procedures and attention to detail in all tasks
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to travel to various job sites in the Coeur d'Alene area
- Typical hours are M-F, 8AM - 4PM. Applicant should have willingness to work flexible hours depending on project needs
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
