Summary:

As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for scheduling freight deliveries and arranging the daily pickups of shipments. The Dispatcher communicates with customers daily to record customer requirements, plan and adjust routes, and schedule truck drivers to deliver or collect freight, shipments, and packages. The Dispatcher looks for ways to save time and money by consolidating loads and routes when possible.

What You'll Do:

• Communicates with clients by phone and/or email to arrange pickup and delivery times.

• Sets up routes and delivery lanes and works with customers to ensure that freight arrives on time at the right location

• Maintains the records for all jobs, including times, routes, and special handling assignments

• Enters new dispatch orders in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and verifies when orders have been completed

• Manages timelines and workload so that drivers take adequate breaks

• Proactively monitors all jobs in TMS Dispatch Module and alerts customers to inform them of changes in delivery schedules

• May track and log customer concerns, resolve issues when possible, and escalate to the manager if necessary

• Ensures customer invoices for cargo shipments are accurate and include additional charges or disbursements, such as toll fees or levies

• Transmit pickups to partner carriers

• Performs other related duties as required

What You'll Bring:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience

• Excellent phone etiquette and verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors

• Excel and Word experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits Information:

• Salary Range: $56,000 - $79,937

• Bonus Eligible
