What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Food Safety position at Stewart's Shops?
Stewart's Shops is a fast-growing convenience store chain in New York and Vermont with friendly store associates and great customers! Our “Food To Go” program is one of the fastest growing areas in our shops. We provide our customers with various food and drink options that are freshly prepared in our shops. It is important that all our partners are educated on how to properly handle food and prevent foodborne illnesses. Our Food Safety staff teaches best practices to prevent food contamination and ensure we are serving our customers fresh, quality, safe foods!
Responsibilities:
- Educate our shop partner’s about our Food Safety program which includes:
- Food preparation, coding and storage standards
- Temperature danger zones
- Cross contamination and allergen risks
- Proper sanitation of core area
- Personal hygiene, hand washing and glove usage
- Cleanliness of all areas throughout our shops
- Assure our shops are complying with all policies and procedures required by the FDA, USDA, state and Stewart’s standards.
- Conduct daily food standard checks including temperature checks of all hot food items as well as verify equipment temps.
- Relay findings to district and corporate staff to provide positive recognition or prepare an action plan when necessary.
- Travel from shop to shop in designated district.
- Shop support.
