Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and drawer management
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information to enhance their shopping experience
- Stock shelves and maintain organized displays, ensuring products are well-presented and accessible
- Conduct product demos and upselling to promote new or featured items, increasing sales opportunities
- Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies, conducting stock counts, and notifying management of low inventory levels
- Maintain phone etiquette when handling inquiries or taking orders over the phone
- Ensure store cleanliness and merchandising standards are upheld to create an inviting shopping environment
Experience
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience preferred, with a strong understanding of retail math and cash register operations
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in managing team tasks or training new staff
