Job Description
As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces using a variety of tools and techniques. You will ensure high-quality results, maintain safe work practices, and collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, patching, and priming.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Mix and match paint colors to ensure proper color consistency and finish.
- Cover and protect furniture, flooring, and adjacent surfaces to prevent damage during painting.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, touch up imperfections, and ensure smooth, uniform application.
- Safely operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, and ladders/scaffolding.
- Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment when handling paints, solvents, and chemicals.
- Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a professional painter or in a similar trade strongly desired.
- 3-5 years experience required for this position .
- Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and proper use of painting tools and materials.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a construction or maintenance environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders/scaffolding for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of materials and equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for detailed work.
- Comfortable working at various heights and in both indoor and outdoor environments.
