Network and Systems Administrator Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Network and Systems Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and support our hospital’s network and server infrastructure. This role ensures the security, reliability, and performance of IT systems that are essential to both clinical and administrative operations. This position will be a remote/ hybrid- remote position.
Other responsibilities include:
- Administer and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, switches, routers, cameras, and wireless networks (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Axis, Milestone, Fortinet).
- Manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Maintain and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Develop, migrate, and maintain endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune.
- Support cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
- Ensure data security through backups, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and collaborate with staff across clinical and administrative departments.
- Oversee device and server lifecycle management including provisioning, installation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide on-call support for critical systems and assist with IT projects and upgrades.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in network and systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, server management, and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with healthcare IT/EHR systems is a plus.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Cisco CCNA preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
