Stewart Manufacturing, LLC, a manufacturer that provides high quality precision CNC machining services to the automotive, diesel engine, heavy equipment and power generating industry is currently accepting applications for full-time Machine Operators on 2nd and 3rd shift. This full-time position starts at $18/hour and pays an additional $2/hour shift premium. At 90 working days, this position will pay an additional $1/hour. Full time positions qualify for benefits including but not limited to, Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k)-retirement plan with company match, company paid life and disability insurance and paid time off.

Summary: Monitor and control the quality of products following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications and/or sets up and operates numerical/computer numerical (CNC) control machine to cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence and quality control of finished work piece.

Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.

Set up and assembles precision components into machined cast housings using jigs, fixtures and hydraulic presses.

Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.

Inspect work pieces to guarantee conformance to specifications using in process prints and gages provided.

Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or dirt from work pieces.

Wash, pack and mark material in preparation for shipment.

Organize, clean and maintain work area.

Transport raw material, in process parts and finished goods via forklifts and hand trucks.

Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read blueprints. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals, whole numbers and fractions. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Must have good communications skills. Ability to read procedures, work instructions and process routings.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift light weight for a minimum of 8 hours/day (up to 25 lbs.), moderate lifting several time/day (up to 50 lbs.), heavy lifting several times/week (over 50 lbs.). The employee is required to frequently stand, stoop, walk and reach a minimum of 8 hrs. per day. Arm, wrist and hand motion; rotating parts for minimum of 8 hrs/day. Visually inspecting work pieces and tooling for discrepancies, 8hrs/day.

Note: Availability for overtime and weekend hours may be required for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will be exposed to warm/hot temperatures during the warm months of the year.
