Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Associate Attorney role based in Charlotte, NC. The Associate Attorney will support a busy business law and estate planning practice by drafting, reviewing, and revising corporate documents, contracts, bylaws, policies, and transaction-related agreements. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing memoranda, and developing practical recommendations for clients. The role involves advising business owners and individuals on entity formation, changes in control, tax classification changes, and succession and estate planning strategies. The Associate Attorney will participate in client meetings, assist with negotiations, coordinate with external professionals when necessary, and help manage matters from initial intake through resolution. The position also includes maintaining organized case files, tracking deadlines, and contributing to the firm’s high standards of professionalism and client service.

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with experience or coursework in Business Law and related practice areas.
- Knowledge or experience in Labor and Employment Law and related regulatory frameworks is beneficial.
- Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to business and individual clients.
- Proficient in legal Research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources.
- Effective Negotiation skills for transactions, contracts, and dispute resolution.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license (or eligibility for prompt admission) to practice law in North Carolina.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting and analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, client service, and collaborative teamwork in a law firm environment.
- Prior experience or interest in business transactions, estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate is preferred.
