THE ROLE
THE ROLE
You own execution — across every project, every schedule, and every trade.
The Construction Manager is responsible for the performance of ClearPath's entire project portfolio. You're not running one job. You're running the machine that runs all the jobs — setting the standard, managing the people, and ensuring projects deliver fast, clean, and profitably.
This role is split between the field and the office. You're present enough on sites to know what's happening — and organized enough in the office to make sure it stays that way.
WHAT YOU OWN
1. Master Schedule — All Projects
• Build and own the schedule across the full project portfolio
• Ensure every job starts on time and finishes on time — no exceptions
• Hold superintendents accountable to daily and weekly milestones
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks before they slow production
2. Cycle Time & Speed
• Full ownership of project duration across all active jobs
• Drive completions faster than industry standard
• Push urgency at every level — from subs to supers — without sacrificing quality
3. Quality Control
• Set and enforce ClearPath's quality standard — site visits confirm it
• Ensure punch lists are closed before turnover, not after
• Zero-surprise finishes: no callbacks, no open items, no excuses
4. Team Leadership — Supers & Crew Leaders
You directly manage a growing field team:
• Site Superintendents — currently 2, scaling to 4 as the portfolio grows
• Insourcing Crew Leaders — Lead Carpenter, Lead Plumber, Lead Electrician, and additional trades as we insource more scope
• Set clear expectations for every direct report — schedule adherence, log quality, site standards
• Inspect what you expect. No missed logs. No vague updates. No tolerance for drift.
• Develop your team — this crew grows with ClearPath; invest in them accordingly
5. Warranty & Client Follow-Through
• Own the warranty process from claim to close
• Ensure clients are responded to quickly and professionally
• Protect the ClearPath reputation — every interaction matters
6. Pre-Construction Alignment (Lateral Leadership)
You don't manage these teams — but you make sure they perform.
• Work with sales, design, and estimating to ensure scopes are tight and buildable before hitting the field
• Ensure estimates go out on time and bids reflect real field conditions
• Coordinate with the cabinet company on accuracy, lead times, and build-ready output
• Jobs must be ready before they mobilize — that's on you to enforce
7. Job Profitability (Shared Responsibility)
• Protect margins through disciplined execution
• Reduce waste, rework, and field inefficiency
• Ensure what was sold is what gets built — correctly, the first time
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Every active job has a clear, current schedule — and is on it
• No missed start dates. No missed completion dates
• Daily logs are 100% complete, useful, and submitted on time
• Jobs are organized, predictable, and controlled
• Owner and Business Unit Leader are out of day-to-day firefighting
YOUR AUTHORITY
• Hire and fire within your team
• Own and control the master schedule across all projects
• Hold direct reports accountable to execution standards
• Partner with leadership on insourcing vs. subcontracting decisions
WHO THIS POSITION IS FOR
• A high-level superintendent or operations leader ready to run jobs at scale
• Someone who has actually built projects — not just managed spreadsheets
• A leader who sees problems early and solves them before they cost money
• Someone who runs toward hard conversations, not away from them
WHO THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR
• Someone who needs constant direction
• Someone who avoids conflict or lets things slide
• Someone who tolerates missed deadlines, incomplete logs, or sloppy work
NON NEOGTIABLES
• Deep residential construction experience — you've built real projects
• Proven ability to manage multiple jobs and multiple people simultaneously
• Track record of finishing on time and holding others to the same standard
• Detail-oriented and people-oriented — not one or the other
• Loves structure. Hates chaos and drama.
