Overview:
Stewart-Amos is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Hammer & Dewatering Pump Rebuild Mechanic to join our growing service team. This position involves the repair, rebuild, maintenance, startup, and installation of various equipment, including water pumps, hydraulic hammers, solar-powered traffic signs, street sweepers, buckets, and other equipment attachments. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulics, and welding skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform repair, rebuild, and maintenance services for hydraulic hammers, dewatering pumps, and other heavy equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Operate plasma and torch cutting equipment for repairs and modifications.
- Perform bucket rebuilds, including shank/adapter changeouts.
- Maintain and document inspections, service orders, work orders, and change requests accurately.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members and stakeholders as needed.
- Assist in product demonstrations and support for customers and internal teams.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned shop areas.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on repair experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
- Skilled in diagnosis and repair of dewatering pumps and hydraulic hammers.
- Welding and cutting skills are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documents.
- Class C or higher driver's license.
Work Hours:
7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires heavy physical labor, including the exertion of:
- 100 lbs. of force occasionally
- 50 lbs. of force frequently
- 20 lbs. of force constantly
- Must be able to:
- Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Visually inspect small defects and parts.
- Operate machines, motor vehicles, and specialized tools.
- Communicate effectively in a shop environment both verbally and in writing.
- Perform all work safely and efficiently in a demanding setting.
