What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICU Nurse Practitioner position at Steward Health Care and Careers?
POSITION SUMMARY
Works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a intensive care unit which includes, but is not limited to, patient admission, assessment and discharge process; ordering interpreting and dictation of the results of clinical tests and reporting results to physicians; prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of accredited program of professional nursing. MSN required.
- Currently licensed in State of Louisiana to practice advanced professional nursing. Must have the ability to identify and address the special needs of all patients in pertinent areas.
- Expertise in critical care
- BLS required within 30 days. All other certifications due within 90 days of hire ie, ACLS, PALS, ETC.
