Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional service, assisting customers with their needs, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This role involves engaging with customers, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations to create a welcoming environment for all shoppers.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales, returns, and exchanges
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Upsell products and suggest complementary items to enhance sales opportunities
- Manage merchandising tasks including stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store cleanliness
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and replenishing merchandise as needed
- Provide bilingual support to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via messaging platforms
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts when applicable
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages) is advantageous
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math concepts such as basic math calculations and merchandising principles
- Ability to perform upselling techniques and product demos confidently
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environment is beneficial
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team and independently as needed
