What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional-Lunch Duty & After School Kids' Club position at Stevenson Elementary?
Grandview Heights Schools is accepting applications for a Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is 3 hours per day covering lunch/recess at the Elementary Schools from 11am - 2pm and 4 hours per day assisting as a Paraprofessional within the Elementary school and after school Kids' Club program from 2pm-6pm.
Candidates should have knowledge of diabetic care and willing to administer insulin shots on a daily basis. They should have the ability to work with special needs students in a range of ages and abilities.

Reports To: Building Principal, Director of Student Services and Kids' Club Directors
Terms: 185 days
Qualifications
- Successfully complete a BCI and FBI background check
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Educational Aide Permit; ability to obtain one if not currently licensed
- Must complete CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse training upon hire
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position on a daily basis (climb steps, lift up to 25lbs, transport children, perform minor health related tasks)
General Job Duties
- Assists in supervising students in the cafeteria during mealtime
- Assists in making dure the table and surrounding areas are clean
- Assists in supervising the playground/classroom during the lunch hour which may include coordinating/supervising group games for students
- Circulates among assigned tables during the mealtime to be available as needed
- Monitor and assist assigned students as they travel to designated areas throughout the school as directed by certificated staff or administrators, including but not limited to restrooms, cafeteria, playground and special areas
- Assist students in restrooms as needed (supervise washroom breaks, diaper changing, clothing changes, and/or personal hygiene)
- Facilitate appropriate social interactions among students by prompting, modeling, and reinforcing social behaviors in small groups
