OVERVIEW
A Certified Medication Aide ensures that residents receive their medications safely and accurately by administering medications, monitoring for reactions, and documenting. CMAs use critical thinking skills by communicating with other healthcare professionals such as Charge Nurses regarding the residents' needs and changes in condition. Because of the personal nature of the job, CMAs should be compassionate and enjoy helping others.
QUALIFICATIONS
Has successfully completed a training and competency evaluation program approved by the State and holds a current Nurse Aide Certificate AND Medication Aide Certificate from the state of Texas
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
