DESCRIPTION
The Stevens Dramatic Society at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey is seeking a Production and Technical Manager for its Fall 2026 play production (awaiting show rights). The Stevens Dramatic Society is an entirely student-run society with a full cast and Production Board of full-time college students. We are in search of a Production and Technical Manager who can work with tight student schedules, budget constraints, and are able to work well with students who pursue theatre mainly as a hobby.Production and Technical Manager - Paid $3500 for 12 Weeks
The position entails working with the Producer to schedule, attend, and lead all Production Board meetings and crew calls, organize Load In and Load Out of the theater, advise Production Board members and provide support where needed, help to maintain one cohesive vision throughout the production, and more. Furthermore, this is a position of guidance for the student set and lighting team as well as managing the rest of the student production team so the students may have a more professional understanding of their departments that they are the head of. (If applicable) If requested, some financial advisement for certain departmental investment decisions would be appreciated.
All positions are required to work closely with the student Producer of the show to address any and all matters.
Auditions and Callback dates are still TBD, however, we anticipate them being held on a Thursday-Sunday during the first few weeks of September. Rehearsals will begin the following Monday after callbacks. Weekly rehearsals will be held Monday-Thursday 8pm-11pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm. Performance dates are 11/5 at 9pm, 11/6 at 8pm, and 11/7 at 2pm and 8pm.
Experience working with college students is appreciated. Please also note if you have any experience for our other open positions: Director and Stage Manager.
