Role Description This full-time, on-site Radiologic Technologist role is based at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, KS. The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including operating radiologic equipment, positioning patients, and capturing high-quality images in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. Responsibilities include maintaining radiation safety standards, verifying patient identification, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout exams. The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support accurate diagnosis and timely patient care, as well as documenting procedures and maintaining equipment in good working condition. The Radiologic Technologist will also follow all regulatory, quality, and infection control guidelines and may assist with on-call or emergency imaging needs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in radiologic technology, including performing diagnostic imaging procedures and operating radiology equipment safely and effectively.
  • Current or eligible certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or equivalent credentials as required by state regulations.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles, proper shielding techniques, and adherence to regulatory standards to protect patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of basic medicine and radiology concepts, including anatomy, physiology, and clinical indications for common imaging studies.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; associate or bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred.
  • Valid state radiologic technologist licensure (or eligibility to obtain) in Kansas.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary clinical teams and provide clear explanations to patients.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliable documentation practices, and commitment to patient safety, quality standards, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
  • Ability to work rotating shifts or on-call as needed in a rural hospital setting and to adapt to varied patient volumes and clinical situations.
