What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult IDD Day Program/Support Worker- Sanford position at Stevens Center?
Seeking applicants with a heart of gold, a desire to do meaningful work, and a strong work ethic!
Support Worker (at other agencies referred to as CAP worker, Hab Tech, or DSP) needed in a day program setting (until 2pm) and then a community setting (until 5pm) to assist individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Sanford.
This is a full-time position which will require someone 7:45am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Some position requirements will include-
- Provide supervision and assistance as needed with participants’ personal care and safety needs.
- Support program participants throughout community integration and volunteering activities.
- Seek opportunities to meet participant’s needs and interests through both scheduled and spontaneous activities that support participant choice.
- Promote and improve the social needs and communication skills of all participants.
- Participate in the planning and organizing of large and small group activities, making any necessary changes to assure successful results for all participants.
- Maintain all supplies used in supporting participant's individual and group activities.
- Complete required documentation of participant's goals.
- Participate in planning meetings and provide input towards participant's current progress and future needs.
- Ability to organize and lead group activities.
- Ability to work in groups and one-on-one with individuals.
- May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position.
Must have the ability to maintain positive and supportive rapport with individual receiving services and their family, co-workers, and supervisor. Reliability is a MUST!
Mandatory Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers' License
Verifiable automobile insurance
Clean criminal record
Have a Smart phone and are willing to download App to clock in/out and to complete daily documentation of services.
Experience is great, but the RIGHT ATTITUDE and willingness to learn are the key to success.
All required training will be provided by agency. Current CPR/FA is a plus.
Work history and references will be verified.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
