What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architectural Staff (Level II) position at Stevens & Associates (S&A)?
Essential Functions
- Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.
- Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
- Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs.
- Carries out intricate assignments requiring improved or custom techniques or procedures.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced staff.
- For licensed staff: Responsible for design and technical decisions.
- Responsible for adherence to BIM / Documentation standards and best-practices. Works within project BIM models, concept design drawings, and construction documents through all phases of the design and construction process, with guidance and oversight from more senior staff.
- Acts in assistant capacity to Senior Level staff on projects. Assists in the coordination of administrative and technical efforts including schedule, budgets and scope of work.
- Licensed candidates shall be responsible for design decisions and shall stamp record documents. Licensed candidates shall lead all client correspondence. Non-licensed candidates shall support design decisions & client coordination.
Education and Professional Experience
- Professional or non-professional degree in Architecture.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
- Licensure required for Architect II, a plus for Architectural Designer II.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Revit and MS Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Familiarity with AutoCad, SketchUp, and Bluebeam a plus.
- Possesses knowledge in architectural design, production of construction documentation, and the construction administration process.
- Possesses knowledge in construction practices and detailing.
- Possesses basic knowledge of MEP and Structural systems and demonstrated experience coordinating building systems to integrate effectively with the design.

Other Job Requirements
- A valid driver’s license.
- The ability to lift and carry 25-40lbs on occasion.
Limits of Authority
- The Architect II/Architectural Designer II has authority to participate in and guide developing major decisions concerning cost, design, schedule, and completion of projects with approval from senior staff.
EXPECTED SALARY
$65,000-$76,000 annually, plus benefits.
