Job Description:
Riverhead CDJR is seeking an experienced and driven Service Director to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience. As Service Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department operations, maximizing profitability, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, including advisors, technicians, and support staff
- Drive service profitability by managing labor hours, parts sales, and productivity
- Develop and implement processes to improve workflow, customer service, and repair turnaround time
- Monitor and achieve departmental goals for revenue, expenses, CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index), and productivity
- Train, coach, and motivate staff to ensure consistent, high-quality performance
- Resolve customer issues in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain compliance with all manufacturer warranty and dealership policies
- Collaborate with the Fixed Ops Director and General Manager to align service operations with dealership goals
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Service Director or Service Manager in an automotive dealership (CDJR experience preferred)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Deep understanding of automotive service processes, metrics, and warranty procedures
- Proficiency with DMS (Dealer Management Systems), such as CDK or Reynolds & Reynolds
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
