Description of the role:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Toyota Automotive Technician to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Toyota vehicles in accordance with factory standards. This role involves using specialized diagnostic tools, adhering to manufacturer warranty procedures, and staying up to date with Toyota technical training and service bulletins. Key responsibilities include diagnosing drivability issues, executing routine maintenance, conducting multi-point inspections, and ensuring thorough documentation and communication with service advisors. The ideal candidate will have current Toyota certification or ASE’s, proven dealership experience, strong diagnostic capabilities, and a commitment to continuous learning and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on vehicles, including but not limited to engine performance, transmission, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, steering, HVAC, and drivability concerns.
- Utilize specialized Toyota diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and factory technical information systems to accurately identify vehicle issues.
- Execute all repairs according to factory specifications and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough multi-point inspections and perform routine maintenance services (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, filter replacements).
- Identify and report additional service needs or potential future issues observed during inspections.
- Strictly adhere to all Toyota manufacturer warranty policies and procedures.
- Stay current with all Toyota technical bulletins, recalls, and service campaigns
- Accurately document all work performed, including diagnosis, repairs, parts used, and labor times, using the dealership's computer system.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding vehicle status, recommended repairs, and any unforeseen issues.
- Actively participate in required factory Toyota training courses and achieve additional certifications as opportunities arise.
- Continuously enhance your technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with new technologies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly use and care for all dealership tools, equipment, and specialty tools
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Current Toyota factory certification required
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician, with significant time working on vehicles at a dealership.
- Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot automotive problems
- Solid understanding of automotive systems (mechanical, electrical, electronic) and their operation.
- ASE Certifications is a plus
- Meticulous approach to repairs and inspections, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to efficiently resolve technical issues
- Dependable and committed to excellent service.
- Ability to clearly understand and convey technical information
- Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record.
