What you’ll do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, applying various therapeutic modalities such as play therapy with children.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute distress, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, including case management and referrals as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
- Educate families on behavioral management strategies to foster positive interactions at home and in the community.
Basic qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, seeking full licensure (LAMFT).
Preferred qualification
- Experience completing diagnostic assessments, treatment plans and clinical case notes with the ability to demonstrate and model stable, appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical records management.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques, ability to build rapport and offer support.
- Previous experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
