Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and ensuring the smooth flow of administrative tasks within the medical office. This role requires a understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance verification processes.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for4 healthcare providers.
- Responsible for obtaining/verifying patient demographics and verifying insurance information at each visit
- At time of service, collect outstanding balances, uninsured/ private pay payments via cash, check or charge
- Maintain knowledge of all health forms required for each visit and verification of storage in EMR
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical coding and billing inquiries as needed.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Handle administrative tasks such as medical records,faxing, emails and data entry.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
- Works near others, usually within a few feet
- Knows how to work in a team atomosphere
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a receptionist in a medical office is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks such as insurance verification and medical coding.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with a EMR( Electronic Medical Record)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications in medical administration are a plus.
