Service Advisor Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance procedures clearly, ensuring customers are well-informed about their vehicle’s condition
- Collaborate with technicians to prioritize service tasks and communicate estimated completion times effectively
- Prepare detailed work orders, including necessary parts and labor estimates, ensuring accuracy for smooth workflow
- Use mechanical knowledge to assist in diagnosing issues when needed, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and vehicle specifications for future reference
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any additional questions or concerns
Service Advisor Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters used in automotive repair
- Experience in vehicle maintenance or related automotive roles is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers with varying levels of automotive understanding
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple service orders efficiently
