Compensation: $23.00 – $32.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to support legal team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves variety in their work, and is looking to grow with a firm invested in professional development and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management & Client Support

  • Assist attorneys in all phases law cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, financial affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Organize and maintain case files with timely and accurate court filings.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates and gathering information.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, depositions, and mediations.


Legal Research & Document Preparation

  • Conduct research on relevant laws, case law, and legal articles.
  • Prepare trial exhibits, timelines, and summaries.
  • Assist with trial and hearing preparation, including assembling evidence and witness materials.


Administrative & Office Support

  • Maintain and monitor attorney calendars and case deadlines.
  • Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel for filings and scheduling.
  • Track billable time accurately and assist in client billing processes.
  • Draft internal and external correspondence and maintain documentation standards.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of paralegal or high-level legal assistant experience.
  • Familiarity with Maine court rules and procedures highly valued.


Education:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong legal drafting, writing, and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software (Clio experience is a plus).
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple cases at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, positive attitude with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
