Job Summary
The Education Director leads the development, coordination, and promotion of Steve Rummler HOPE Network's statewide education and awareness programs. This role combines programs management, communications strategy, and creative content development to advance harm reduction, overdose prevention, and professional education initiatives across Minnesota.
The Education Director leads the development and delivery of educational content across digital, print, and in-person presentation formats, while ensuring compliance with continuing-education requirements and brand standards.
Essential Functions
Program Development & Management
- Plan, organize, and manage SRHN's community and professional education programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain continuing-education (CEU) registrations and compliance with relevant board standards.
- Create and update training materials, visual presentations, online courses, infographics, and other educational resources.
- Oversee online learning platforms, course enrollments, and participant communications.
- Conduct annual reviews of all educational materials and coordinate updates with program staff.
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope, accessibility, and reach of SRHN's educational offerings.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify staff learning needs and coordinate professional-development opportunities.
- Participate as a key member of the management team, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.

Budget & Grants Management
- Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets; ensure responsible spending and fiscal accountability.
- Support grant research, proposal development, and reporting to sustain and expand program funding.
- Manage fee-for-service education activities, including logistics, evaluation, and model improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance program efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
Communications & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain partnerships with external agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Maintain a network of subject-matter experts for guest lectures, content review, and collaborative projects.
- Oversee SRHN's communications strategy, ensuring consistent, mission-aligned messaging across all platforms.
- Represent SRHN at public events, summits, and community activities as needed.
Marketing, Reporting & Digital Presence
- Manage SRHN's online presence, including website updates, Google Business listing, SEO, and web analytics.
- Design and manage branded materials and merchandise; maintain digital assets and press kits.
- Prepare reports and evaluations, including Impact Reports and SRHN's Annual Report.
- Track and analyze trends in overdose prevention, harm reduction, addiction medicine, and related policy areas; share insights with staff and partners.
- Plan and executive marketing campaigns for educational programs and events using digital, print, and community channels.
Supervision
- Provide leadership and supervision to the Education Specialist, including goal setting, coaching, and professional development.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 2 years of experience developing educational materials.
- Must have a smartphone (SRHN provides a Google Voice number and phone stipend).
- Must have reliable transportation to work and ability to travel to events and trainings around the state as needed.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and general tech proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both community and professional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve with resourcefulness - seeking out information, solutions, and professional development opportunities as needed.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Previous experience managing or supervising others.
Preferred:
- College degree in Education, Public Health, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the nonprofit sector, preferably in substance use prevention, harm reduction, or mental health education
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and course creation platforms such as Articulate 360.
- Previous experience with web and design programs like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
