Drive and operate farm machinery such as tractors, ATVs, and self-propelled machinery to till soil, prepare fields, and plant crops; Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on farm vehicles, implements, and equipment; Set up and operate irrigation equipment, including laying pipes, maintaining ditches, and ensuring adequate water supply to crops; Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to crops using hand sprayers and other equipment; Plant seeds and seedlings using various planting techniques and equipment, including seed drill sand planters; Drive and control farm equipment to irrigate, cultivate, and harvest crops, adjusting implements as needed; Transport harvested crops to storage facilities, operating trucks and conveyors as needed; Monitor grain moisture levels and assist with grain handling, including loading and unloading grain bins; Clean and maintain storage areas and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency; Perform general farm labor tasks as needed, including landscaping, clearing debris, and maintaining farm grounds; Report any machinery malfunctions or operational issues to supervisors.
Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on crop conditions, weather, and field needs. Workers will perform a variety of general farm labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours.
