The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile delivery within one or more cross-functional teams in the insurance organization. This role ensures that teams follow Scrum principles, remove impediments, and deliver high-quality digital solutions that improve customer experience, underwriting, claims processing, and operational efficiency.
The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to support agile transformation and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the company.
Responsibilities
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Guide and coach development teams and stakeholders on Agile/Scrum best practices.
Support Product Owners in managing product backlogs and ensuring clear priorities.
Identify, track, and remove impediments or blockers that hinder team progress.
Monitor sprint progress and ensure transparency through metrics and reports (e.g., burndown charts, velocity).
Promote team accountability, communication, and collaboration.
Ensure the team adheres to Agile principles, frameworks, and company standards.
Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to improve delivery practices across teams.
Facilitate alignment between IT, business units, and leadership to ensure product goals meet strategic insurance objectives.
Support the adoption of Agile methodologies within insurance-specific initiatives such as claims automation, policy systems modernization, or customer portals.
Qualifications
1 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or SAFe Scrum Master certification.
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and principles.
Experience working with Agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally).
Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
