CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SCHEDULER/ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience in CPM scheduling, construction sequencing, and project coordination within public works and underground utility construction. This role is scheduler-centric, but also offers direct involvement in project management, field coordination, subcontractor management, change management, and overall project execution.
Since 1961, Steve Bubalo Construction Co. has successfully delivered complex wet and dry utility infrastructure projects throughout Southern California for agencies including Los Angeles World Airports (LAX), Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the City of Los Angeles.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Primavera P6 schedule development, resource loading, and critical path analysis
• Weekly look-ahead schedules and monthly progress updates
• Preparation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Daily reporting, production tracking, and schedule forecasting
• Coordination of subcontractors, procurement, permits, and utility impacts
• Time Impact Analyses (TIA), delay analysis, and recovery schedules
• Collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, Owners, Engineers, Inspectors, and Public Agencies
• Assisting with budgeting, project controls, contract compliance, and progress reporting
• Participation in project meetings, schedule reviews, and coordination efforts from project startup through closeout
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in public works construction required
• Minimum 10 years of CPM scheduling and/or construction project management experience preferred
• Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling required
• Strong understanding of CPM scheduling methodologies, sequencing, and construction operations
• Ability to analyze critical path impacts, delays, and schedule recovery strategies
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and project controls processes
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Procore, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and other construction management software
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
