Automotive Technician

About the Position
Steubenville Pike Auto is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician.
This is an ideal opportunity for a highly skilled technician who enjoys solving difficult problems and making sure vehicles are repaired correctly the first time. The right person will perform hands-on diagnostic and repair work.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, HVAC, emissions, and intermittent vehicle problems
- Complete major and minor automotive repairs
- Review technician findings before additional work is approved
- Perform final quality-control inspections and road tests
- Verify vehicles are safe, properly repaired, and ready for customers
- Help prevent comebacks through proper testing, documentation, and quality control
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
Ideal Candidate
- At least five years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable working on multiple makes and models
- Experience with scan tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and service information
- Able to accurately identify needed repairs without replacing unnecessary parts
- Able to estimate labor time and explain repair recommendations clearly
- Organized and capable of managing several vehicles at different stages of repair
- Dependable, honest, productive, and focused on quality
- Comfortable communicating with technicians, service writers, parts staff, salespeople, body technicians, and management
- Willing to take responsibility for difficult vehicles and follow repairs through completion
- Able to lead by example without creating unnecessary conflict or drama
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous technician
- Pennsylvania safety inspection license
- Pennsylvania emissions inspection license
