What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pump Service Technician position at Stettler Supply Company, LLC?
The Pump Service Technician- Level 1 is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of pump stations, water treatment systems, and domestic and agricultural water supply systems. This role supports experienced technicians in the field, learns industry skills, and develops the knowledge required to advance to higher technician levels.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in assembling and installing pumps, motors, piping, and irrigation components.
- Help load, unload, and set up tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
- Support senior technicians in troubleshooting and basic repairs
- Assist with operating truck- mounted hoisting equipment under supervision.
- Help with measuring, cutting and preparing various pipe
- Learn to use pressure gauges, water level meters, and other basic testing equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles and tools.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding job progress and needs.
Occasional Requirements:
- Assist with deliveries or pick-ups of materials and supplies
- Support other departments when extra labor is required.
- Help at the store with basic customer questions when directed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to perform basic math measurements.
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Regular bending, stooping, climbing, and working from heights or in confined spaces.
- Extended periods of standing or walking over rough ground.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina for long days on job sites.
- Use of safety gear including hard hats, gloves, boots, and protective eyewear.
Pay: $21.51 - $24.51 per hour
