Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
- Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising.
- Prepare animals for surgery by administering pre-operative medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ health and treatment plans.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Support the team with administrative tasks as required.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in various situations.
