Overview:
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care to join their team at Brooklyn, NY. This role requires a strong background in wound and colostomy care, along with excellent assessment and patient education skills.
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts)
Job Type: 13 weeks Contract with potential of extension.
Responsibilities:
Conduct focused assessments on patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
Develop individualized care plans and recommend appropriate treatments and medications.
Evaluate and document patient responses to wound care interventions.
Collaborate with healthcare teams and make referrals as needed.
Teach and counsel patients and families regarding wound, ostomy, and continence care.
Develop, provide, and evaluate staff education programs.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including incidence and prevalence studies.
Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and hospital policies.
Assist in asset management for specialized equipment (e.g., specialty beds, negative pressure devices).
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s degree in nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program.
Important:
Candidates must hold a New York State Department of Health Temporary Health Care Services registration. A copy must be available at the time of submission. This license is non-negotiable.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New York State RN License.
Primary Source Verification of License from NYS Department of Education.
Current AHA BLS certification.
Certification in at least one of the following:
CWOCN, CWON, CWCN, CWS, or WCC.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience.
Demonstrated experience in wound and colostomy care.
