Job Summary
Sterling Therapy Solutions is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician for an exciting assignment in Alpine, California. This role involves performing high-quality blood draws in a dynamic clinical environment with patients of all ages—including pediatrics. Blended Roles & Responsibilities

- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients across all age groups, including infants, children, adults, and seniors.
- Demonstrate excellent pediatric phlebotomy technique and comfort working with children.
- Verify patient identity, maintain accurate labeling, and document all specimens according to laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
- Follow proper infection control standards and universal precautions at all times.
- Process specimens for transport and ensure timely delivery to the laboratory.
- Handle patient questions and provide clear communication with professionalism and compassion.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all phlebotomy equipment is properly stocked.
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and lab personnel to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Utilize medical terminology competently in daily workflow.
- Uphold HIPAA privacy standards and high-quality specimen integrity.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Proficient in medical terminology.
- Strong communication and patient-care skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Certifications
- California State Phlebotomy License required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong venipuncture and pediatric blood-draw technique.
- Knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and processing.
- Familiar with infection control and safety protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal communication with patients and staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
