Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bedside care to medical-surgical and PCU patients
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and escalate care when needed
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Precept and support nursing students when assigned
- Float to compatible adult care units to ensure safe staffing and care continuity
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
Qualifications
- Active RN License (Compact or state eligible)
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience (Telemetry experience strongly preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia/telemetry exam prior to contract start
- Willingness to care for MST and PCU-level patients and float as assigned
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN Preferred, not required)
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
- Excellent head-to-toe assessment abilities
- Clinical judgment in acute care environments
- Time management and patient prioritization skills
- Experience with electronic charting systems (Cerner preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
