Shift Type: Noc Shift (Night Shift)
Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts
Hours per Week: 36 Hours
Job Summary
Join a high-energy, Level I Trauma Labor & Delivery unit and be part of one of the most rewarding moments in healthcare. This role is designed for experienced L&D Registered Nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
You will work in a high-volume women’s services unit and play a critical role in supporting safe deliveries, emergency obstetric care, and postpartum recovery.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide direct labor and delivery care to high-risk and low-risk obstetrical patients
- Monitor fetal heart tones and uterine activity using advanced fetal monitoring systems
- Administer and titrate labor medications including oxytocin and magnesium sulfate
- Circulate in the OR during cesarean deliveries and provide PACU recovery care
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and trauma activations
- Perform sterile procedures and maintain strict infection control standards
- Educate patients and families on the birthing process, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Float within the OB service line as needed to support patient care
Qualifications
- Active RN License (Compact or state eligible)
- Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care setting
- Level I Trauma experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Fetal Monitoring Certification required
- Ability to pass required clinical skills labs on Day 1 of orientation
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred, not required)
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced fetal monitoring and interpretation
- Expert knowledge of labor progression, induction, and augmentation protocols
- Strong sterile technique and central line/foley care skills
- Emergency obstetric and neonatal resuscitation skills
- Ability to circulate and recover patients in OB OR and PACU
- Strong communication and patient advocacy skills
