Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN)

Contract Type: Contract (Travel Assignment)
Shift Type: AM Shift (Day Shift)
Schedule: 4×10-hour shifts (0700–1730 or 0730–1800, based on unit needs)
Hours per Week: 40 Hours
Job Summary

You will support complex body IR procedures and provide advanced pre- and post-procedural nursing care in a collaborative, technology-driven setting.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures including education, assessment, and IV access
- Monitor patients under conscious sedation and assist with moderate to deep sedation recovery
- Provide post-procedure care and monitor for complications
- Assist physicians with sterile technique and procedural support
- Administer and titrate medications as ordered
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessments
- Collaborate with radiology technologists and multidisciplinary care teams
- Respond to emergency situations and rapid changes in patient status
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record system
Qualifications
- Active RN License (Compact or state eligible)
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology or ICU experience
- Level I Trauma experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS preferred
- Previous Pre-Op or PACU experience strongly preferred
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred, not required)
Knowledge and Skills
- Skilled in pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care
- Experience with conscious sedation and recovery
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Knowledge of sterile technique and radiology safety
- Ability to manage critical care and hemodynamically unstable patients
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
