Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts
Hours per Week: 48 Hours
Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced bedside care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Manage and monitor patients post-open heart surgery and acute cardiac events
- Operate and monitor IABP, CRRT, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Titrate critical drips including vasopressors, sedatives, and insulin infusions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
- Manage ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery
- Document care accurately within the electronic medical record system
- Float to related critical care units as needed based on skillset
Qualifications
- Active RN License (Compact or state eligible)
- Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or high-acuity ICU experience
- Strong experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients
- Experience with IABP and CRRT required; Impella experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred, not required)
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring and device management
- Titration of critical care drips (vasopressors, sedatives, antihypertensives, insulin)
- Ventilator management and respiratory support
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
- Ability to perform under pressure in high-acuity situations
